Grapes: Merlot, Zinfandel, Carignan and Grenache

Vineyards: Rhodes Vineyard is farmed by Richard Rhodes and his son Christian and is a treasure trove of old vines with Grenache planted in the 40s, Carignan in the 60s, and interplanted “younger” Merlot and Zinfandel vines.

Method: The grapes came were foot crushed, macerated overnight, and then pressed to a stainless tank for fermentation. After primary fermentation, the wine was racked off the lees. We made an addition of unfermented grape must before bottling and bottled under crown cap with 12g of residual sugar from the addition. As always, bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no addition of SO2.

    AVA:  Redwood Valley, Mendocino County

    ABV: 12.5%

    Case Production: 240 cases

    Bottling Date: October 2021

    Release Date: October 2022

Another ‘Pet Not’ release, which is actually quite common in the world of natural winemaking. Party Monster is being the same sort of diva as Pet Nap and did not finish fermentation in the bottle. Party Monster is one of our most popular wines and despite the wine having little to no carbonation this year, it tastes amazing. The wine expresses all of what these sunkissed old vines have to offer: complexity, density of fruit and many layers. After impatiently waiting to release it, it’s this wine’s time to shine.

Tastes like sun ripened strawberries, Hawaiian fruit punch & tangerine cuties.
